Y'all.
I am so upset.
So, yes, the rumors are true. A.C. Moore stores are closing down and shutting their doors forever. My FAVORITE craft store EVER is going away and I could not be anymore unhappy about it. Their great prices, unique stuff, amazing coupons- all saying bye-bye.
Today, my mom and I went to my local A.C. Moore and the entire store was 25%-50% off. Everything. It was like walking into a closing Toys-R-Us all over again. The store was absolutely packed. The line was comparable to a Black Friday Wal-Mart line. Every woman named Karen and Susan was at this store today buying more wreaths than they even needed. Not to mention, the Christmas section was almost empty. That part of the store was 50% off. Mom got some flowers. I walked around looking at the stuff I would normally look at and, well, THE ANIMAL FIGURINES WERE THE ONLY THING IN THE STORE THAT WASN'T ON SALE. I actually did pretty well and ended up not buying a single thing, being that

Christmas is coming and do I really have more room for craft supplies? Not really. I went over to the paint and, well, that was baron except for some yellows. The paintbrushes were 25% off, the wedding stuff was 25% off, and mostly everything else was 50% off. The scrapbook aisle had maybe 78 people in it just throwing stickers into their carts, I was very tempted to do the same, but I remained strong! I am halfway expecting that the final sales are going to drop by having 75%-90% off everything in the store. I imagine that whatever does not sell will be donated or will be taken to those stores that collect other stores' leftovers, like Ollie's or Five Below, and even Dollar Tree. I have seen things in these stores from other stores for very low prices.
I have read that a lot of A.C. Moore stores will be replaced by Michaels, another craft store that, although fun to shop in, is more expensive and, in my experience, have far less coupons than A.C. Moore and even Hobby Lobby. I'm hoping that will change, though.
So, this is goodbye to A.C. Moore - arts... crafts... and no more...
