Safari LTD. is a company that makes realistic animal figurines. They are amongst the most popular animal replica brand, along with Schleich, Papo, and CollectA. Each brand has their strong points, meaning, they master in certain figures.
Schleich is famous for their Horse Club figures, as well as their fairies [Bayala] and knights [Eldrador] collections. Papo is very well-known for their hyper-realistic dinosaur figures. CollectA is a Breyer brand, and they, of course, master in Horses. I also find that their wildlife figures are very nice. Safari LTD is a very popular choice amongst parents when teaching their children about animals. The figures are the cheapest when compared to other animal replica brands. To me, personally, Safari LTD is a hit or miss. Well, they all are, but Safari LTD- I'm the most picky with. For example:
{left} This is Safari's earlier lion cub figure. Like all companies, figures and toys can get better and better over the course of the years. The earlier the year, the more "muddy" and less-detailed the figure will be. To me, the figure must be very detailed, have a great paint-job, and be anatomically correct in their tiny form. Now, look below at Safari's 2020 lion cub. The difference is massive! The details, the paint job, the eyes. The eyes are the single most important part of any figurine ever.
There are many figures that are made years ago, and then remade later. The lion cub has been made several times. The 2020 cub is hands down the best lion cub figure I have seen from Safari LTD. It is also better than the Schleich cubs, in my opinion. My favorite lion cub figures have probably got to be the ones made by Papo. Check those out.
Ok. So this article is titled "sharks," so let's get to it.
Out of every single animal replica brand that I have ever come across, Safari LTD has the most shark figures available. I had asked in a Facebook Group called "All The ANIMAL, FANTASY & PEOPLE Figurines World [heart emoji] Schleich,Papo..etc." which brand they suggest for sharks, and nearly every member said "Safari LTD." So, I looked it up . . .

They all look really good, too. Some of them look better than others, of course. A few of them are muddy, but for the most part, they look pretty good!
So, now begins the journey of gaining all my favorite Safari sharks . . .
