the best dragon figures in the game

I am unsure of the origin of the heavy popularity of dragons. I, for one, know that I have been obsessed with them since I was just a little girl. The book, "Dragonology," truly made me believe dragons existed right in our backyards. And, well, there is a part of me who still wants to believe that because, hey, the world is a scary place and the only escape is our imaginations.

Dreamworks took on the popular book series and turned it into a wonderful, heartwarming trilogy, "How to Train Your Dragon." It made children fall in love with dragons and up until their latest film, "The Hidden World," those young children who fell in love with the first one were now much older and were able to relive the magic of dragons.

I do know that the airing of the HBO show "Game of Thrones," featuring Drogon, Viserion, and Rhaegal, really brought dragons into the spotlight for the older folks who didn't much care for animated cats with large teeth and wings and can shoot fire. The realism and details of the CGI dragons inspired many artisans to create their own dragon sculptures and DIY Dragon Eggs- which by the way they are very fun and easy to make BUT they do take a while to make and take about 400 flat-head thumbtacks to make-but nevertheless, fun.

So, with all the love and popularity of dragons comes the figurines and toys and plush and books and shows and art and sculptures and this and that and the other. There are many companies who make awesome dragon figures. Schleich and Safari LTD make some very cool dragons that are most affordable and look pretty good. Of course, in my opinion, the older Schleich dragons look better than the current ones and Safari LTD's dragons are a huge hit or miss for me, but they are good for children learning about them because of their durability and uniqueness.

Then, there are the brands who make SUPER realistic dragon figures. And who other than McFarlane to make a whole dragon world with a history and backstory and characters and a whole story...

I won't go into too much detail about him, but Todd McFarlane is a dude who made art for The Amazing Spider-Man and is a writer and artist for Spawn. He founded McFarlane Toys, a "sub-hobby," basically, of Todd McFarlane Productions, which obviously is his own studio and whatever. He makes figures from anything popular from anime to movies to video games to our main focus, dragons.

So, this whole dragon world has a story. In short words, disaster struck the dragon world, killing the king, destroying their lives and causing the disappearance of the king’s son, the heir to the throne. The dragons that survived fled to many hidden parts of the world, for whatever reason. Then, humanity happened; human language and writing and culture. Dragons also had their own language, writing, and culture. So, the question stands: "Will there be peace between dragon and man? Or war?" These dragon figures (or sculptures) are highly detailed and realistic. There are different "clans" of dragons. One being Water, another being Fire. Some are called Berserker; there are Warrior, Sorcerer, and Komodo- just to name a few.

McFarlane Dragons Series 3 Water Clan Action Figure

I honestly can't even begin to tell you the actual retail price of these things. I have seen every single dragon go for anything between $13 to $170; depending on the edition, series, and rarity of the dragon. Most used ones on Mercari are around $20. Amazon has the highest prices I have seen. Ebay is good if you find a good deal on a listed one. Basically, the "goodness" of the price depends on how much you think you need the figure.

McFarlane did make "Game of Thrones" dragons that retail about $25 each. They can be bought anywhere online, really. They are also at Target for around the same price.

So, McFarlane Toys, I believe, makes the best dragons figures in the game. They are highly detailed, unique, realistic, and fun! The McFarlane Dragons come with their own story and life, which makes collecting them even more cool. The GoT dragons are made exactly to detail how they appear in the show, which is awesome. So, if you are looking to collect dragons, I would start with McFarlane. If you want more "playable" ones, then go with Schleich or Safari LTD.
